Our Trust’s Inspiring Journey

Kanuka Mid-Canterbury Regeneration Trust was founded to foster community awareness and action towards protecting our biodiversity, collaborating with local residents, schools, and organizations for a sustainable future. Learning about biodiversity and why it is important
Our objective/driving force is to encourage a sense of stewardship over the local environment.

We us a placed-based education approach where the local community and environment is a starting point to teach concepts in language arts, math, social sciences and other subjects.

By facilitating collaborative learning opportunities and championing place-based projects, we can better engage with children and young people as they look to make a meaningful contribution to the region they will inherit.
